mechanicle naivism 2007

Mechanical naivism is a follow-up on the "Crownpike project" where all focus is on my naive mechanical. The meaningless mechanical. There is one crank, four lines of power transference, about twenty gearwheels, but no function. Everything is made by my self in raw material, therefore it is impossible to trace the piece to a specific age or culture. I have been inspired of museum display cases and 18'th century mechanical a´la Polhem. The tribute and romantic of the dead objects, the mystic and the history. I want to create a false cult around the object. One can only guess the history, the age, the purpose it is created in, and it's area of use.
