Machines is a pretty incoherent project witch is based on my thoughts about the countryside and the working class lack of cultural funds, and about to use what you got. Dig where you're standing.
Hi Robert! 2006, DVD
Is a greeting to the land artist Robert Smithson and his monumental piece Spiral Jetty. By lack of the right instruments relate, my very temporary and spontaneous pice, to Smithsons like the spoken word relate to the printed.
Paint 2006, DVD
Is a filmed performance where I via a 20 ton heavy excavator try to paint a self-portrait on canvas. The enormous power from the machine is concentrated in the brush at the end of the arm, and of course all of the power disappears but some few grams that is required to use a brush. The frustration and will to create and express oneself, but ones again not having the right knowledge or tools. The excavator becomes a clumsy prosthes to use.
The Machine 2006, DVD
A mix between hard and soft, male and female, seams that looks like weldseams on the more wobbling then vibrating machine, built of old dirty mattresses and a little engine that makes it swing. The strong rear part of the machine reminds of large strength, an ambition that will be lost in the impotent arm with it’s minimal scoop. And again the imaginary power disapear, and the impotence colour up the sculpture, who in tragicomic way wants something more.
